nVidia Control Panel - 3D Settings - Manage 3D Settings - Global Settings - Settings - Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance.
Note: Since making the change I've moved on to another project and I'm no longer in ''finishing" mode. Let me know if this solves the issue for others. On Wed, Jan 18, 2017 at 9:36 AM, Seth Isaac Buncher seth_buncher@hotmail.com [Avid-L2] <Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com> wrote:

Subject: Re: [Avid-L2] Showstopping render bug in 8.7 & 8.7.2I've been dealing with this over the last few weeks as well. MC8.7 / Win7 / nVidia Quadro K3100M.I had pinpointed my issue to Symphony Color Correction, but I wasn't using a lot of effects in that project, so it could have been more general. After going round and round with Avid support, the tech finally adjusted the power setting on the nVidia card and it seemed to fix the issue. But the intermittent nature of the slimy bug made it difficult to troubleshoot. It is easier to spot with the timeline in Draft Quality. I'm going to take your advice and turn off GPU rendering until further notice. Thanks, Terry!

I have now heard of folks having the issue on macs also. Appears to be related to Nvidia cards an Media Composer.

It's 8.7.* that is the issue. I was fine back with all the 7.* builds.
If you aren't finishing, you might not catch the one fame chroma shifts as they are subtle.
The mangled frames are hard to miss. Sometimes it will be a blend of two frames. The worst example was in the middle of a countdown made with title tool, the number 8 had one frame of number 7 about 10 frames in. I don't even know how you pull one frame from a following title. Rerendering usually makes it go away, but sometimes it pops up elsewhere in the shot.
