Oh boy an intermittent issue my favorite. So much fun to trouble shoot and fix. ;-(

These are rendered in glitches and chroma shifts. The rendered media file contains the corrupted frame(s).
If you re-render the effect, in other words, lose the render then render it again, that frame won't be corrupt, but another one or many might be. It is an intermittent error.

Now another thought crossed my mind. Does the problem happen on a file export of a sequence that isn't rendered or does it happen when doing a digital cut?

"Rerendering usually makes it go away"
Perhaps I misunderstood the actual bug. Is it after rendering that the chroma and garbled frames occur or when something is not rendered and Avid is rendering on the fly? If as you say here rendering makes it go away then given I always render in a safe color limiter on top I would probably not see it. I'm still on 8.5.3 so I haven't crossed that bridge yet.

It's 8.7.* that is the issue. I was fine back with all the 7.* builds.
If you aren't finishing, you might not catch the one fame chroma shifts as they are subtle.
The mangled frames are hard to miss. Sometimes it will be a blend of two frames. The worst example was in the middle of a countdown made with title tool, the number 8 had one frame of number 7 about 10 frames in. I don't even know how you pull one frame from a following title. Rerendering usually makes it go away, but sometimes it pops up elsewhere in the shot.
