From memory, there are several different 422 cables. (remembering the time when you could slave Avid as a player? That needed a different one.)
Or, it's a setup issue where you have to assign the port. (Let alone baud rate, stop / parity eider.)
But WHY? It's a file based recorder that shoots ProRes and DNxHD, you can AMA link to the files and be done with it…
