Our QC department has been seeing consistent CRC errors on outputs to our SRW5500 deck. The errors also appear when playing back the tape in our SRW5100 (play only) deck. It appears to be limited to A3 only. I thought it might be a tape head alignment error, but since it's only on the one channel, I'm not about that. If the tape heads were misaligned, wouldn't we see the error on all audio channels?
We are scheduling a visit from a Sony maintenance tech, but I'm just wondering if any of you big brained folks out there have any ideas?
