Re: [Avid-L2] Audio Channel Re-assignment for Group Clips

Although I don't think it does what you need, I can confirm that Groupitforme is an absolute godsend when it comes to grouping horribly shot reality TV (which is most tv nowadays). It is exactly what Avid should have built in to the interface. What would have taken me about 7 days to group manually took me about 1 hour with group it for me, they are not exaggerating when they say that it is saving multiple hours of backbreaking manual grouping. Avid should spend less money on bonuses and more on buying or developing this sort of functionality. For me, grouping is the most outdated feature of Avid, even over the colour corrector.

There's also GroupItForMe (http://groupitforme.com/).  I haven't used their services, but it sounds like they'll do it for you without too much hassle.  Could be cost effective if you have a lot to do and not a lot of time.

Small world department - the web site for SuperGrouper was designed by Eric Luce, a former student of my wife Dawn’s and mine during our time at Huntington University in Indiana.  He went to LA during his senior year an has been working at a post house.  Sharp young guy - I wouldn’t be surprised if he was one of the designers of the software. Fun to see his name…

Check out SuperGrouper.  Give it a google.  There is a guy who has really figured out the Quick Keys macros and all kinds of stuff for the multigroup workflow.  Many of our AEs swear by the process.
