Yes, better and also not with mistakes! MC's custom QT exporter often fails in major ways (flipped fields, for one). I never ever ever ever ever use it. EVER. Even if it's to the point where it might work 99.9% of the time, I have zero use for something that fails 0.1% of the time.

Mixdown. Export SAS. Works every time.

That's interesting.. So you are saying we'd get better results by mixing down to prores and exporting same as source than just exporting a prores because MC is using a different encoder.

I agree with Mark that the essential thing is to mixdown or transcode to ProRes inside MC, then export Same As Source. Do NOT use a 'Custom' QT export setting, as it will use slow/owd/32bit QT encoder and gamma-error-prone QT ProRes codec. Mac-MC's have a proper ProRes codec.

Not too sure on the full levels export setting – depends on the receiving end.
