From what I know:You still need the pathnames the way they always were for Avid MXF.But inside the Avid MediaFiles\MXF\ you can have multiple XX folders with different stuff.(But Avid will scan them all!)It's different for AMA clips of course, but afaik, you can't AMA link Avid MXF.Big block size is faster, and no problems since you don't have small mediafiles.(A 1 frame audio dissolve be an exception...)my 2 cents.BoukeVideoToolShed

When the original system was configured 10 years ago there were certain media file rules / parameters and I'm wondering if anything has changed? (I'm using a fairly new Mac OS 10.9.5)
Like what if the max # of omf (yes omf) files in a folder? Do Avid Medaifiles (mxf) & OMF folders still have to be at the root level of a volume? Or can many be nested somehow on one drive? (btw I own MediaMover to help impose order on things.)
Do people still partition they way they used to to maintain efficiencies re. small files and block sizes on big drives?
If there are good resources or discussions out there, I'm all ears.
Best,
Paul
