The last few weeks are big vacation weeks in the US, July 4th was on a Monday, so a lot of people took the week before or last week off. Avid had July 4th and 5th off from work for vacation days, for example. I think it's usually quiet here on the L around these weeks. Just as an aside, since I happen to know something about the Avid Media Composer user base, we are at record amount of active users for Media Composer these days so I think it's just holiday time. Just FYI.
Thanks,
Dave

Subject: [Avid-L2] Re: quiet here
I find myself disheartened by the recent trends I've seen in how Avid is operating at the cooperate level but I still prefer the product to any other for my type of work. With 8.6 out I would expect to see more chatter as users begin to wring it out in the real world. Also with all the new hurdles in dealing with 4K etc... I find myself needing this and similar lists even more to bounce workflows and ideas around that use to be basic and simple but are now suddenly questions. New color spaces and RGB vs 709 which is now Full Range vs. Legal and how this relates to level scaling is one topic that comes to mind. I find myself in that old adage of, "Everything You Know Is Wrong" more often than I would like to these days. Or at least, "Everything I know Has To Be Modified Or Rethought."
I'm sure the list will survive even if it has to be "Modified or Rethought" down the line. If for no other reason than staying current with OKI Dogs the list will continue. ;-)

At the risk of stating the obvious, I think recent posts about excessive executive compensation, unfair employee furloughs and the future of product development, and the company, from the perspective of an ex-Avid employee (whether biased or not) -- have put a damper on this List.
