Hi,
Thanks for pointing this out. I took a look and there are definitely some items I will correct. Very sorry, some of these items slipped through the review process and of course I would not want to present the product incorrectly. If anybody needs clarification on DNXIO or DNxHR functionality, please reach out to me directly. We will post a corrected article as soon as we can.

Subject: Re: [Avid-L2] DNxIO puff piece sounds like BS to me
It's total BS. All that the DNxIO adds is on board conversion to and from DNx. So if you are capturing from tape or outputting, the conversion is done on the box as opposed to the CPU or GPU. Just like Adrenaline. In other words, nothing in the real world. But the article implies that it actually accelerates transcodes and Frameflex. I have two of them and they don't accelerate anything.
BTW: You won't find Avid literature making those claims. They are outsourcing their BS.
I'm hesitant to give them traffic. But here you go:

I could read the piece myself, but then I wouldn't be able to ask you… did the piece offer up any details, any specs, any benchmarking to support their claims? Anything even the least bit anecdotal form the field, you know, "… at work on 'Dunkirk' in France, editor Lee Smith says, "We wouldn't be able to keep up with all the IMAX Chris is shooting were it not for the advanced speed provided us with the DNxIO BOB!"? Something like that?

Just read a BS article on ProVideoCoalition about DNxIO. It claims that "It's a whole lot faster with the DNxIO BOB, compared with previous hardware–especially when working with the anamorphic content. Avid's FrameFlex is much snappier on the DNxIO when de-squeezing the footage."
Doesn't this wring of the "Adrenaline accelerates" lie Avid used to push?
