I use Carbon Copy Cloner for my 12 TB RAID, set to RAID 5.
As the name implies, it is a sector for sector copy of the drive, and has worked well for me.
I only wish there was a way to set it to do an automatic backup, instead of manually.
Maybe v4 can do that, v3.5 works fine so I haven't upgraded. Mac only. $40
