I received this info from an ex Avid employee who said I was free to post it:
"Product development is in complete disarray. Louis pounds his fist on the table demanding the teams migrate to a platform strategy no one wants. Gahagan nodded and went along, balancing real product development with modest platform efforts. When he'd had enough of Louis, he left. Louis put a "yes man" in that role. Dana Ruzicka has no idea what a platform is, but he's. The quintessential ball washer. The sum total of his leadership skills is standing somberly in front of he team and telling us it's go time. I overlapped with Dana for 9 years. His nickname was "the cockroach" when we felt sorry for him, but it became "the sewer rat" to more closely match his personality. Every time there was a RIF his name was on the list, but somehow survived. The next day when the lights came on - there he was, like some indestructible virus. Anyway, in those 9 years he never once hired someone who was not an Avid retread. He only hires people he's previously been able to appear smarter than. It's not easy, but retreads like Alan Hoff who is in his fourth or fifth term of duty with Avid are not the team you need to assemble. Avid's not going to make it through the year in its current form. Cerberus will take over control by November. Louis is gone before the summer is out."
