The DNxHR capture is supported. Won't that be convenient capturing from your 4K VTR? Oh wait...

The DNxIO was meant to replace the Nitris DX. In the sense of all the I/O connections, it does that.

As for giving you Symphony Universal, that's gone. No frame rate conversion on output.

It is claimed to give Closed Caption support, but that only works for playback on 8.4.5 and later, and doesn't work on capture.

If you want a piece of hardware that works with all your common apps including Resolve while supporting DNxHR capture, and you need the expanded I/O options, this is your only choice. If you don't need all that I/O and don't need to capture anything above HD, there are far less expensive solutions.

For a feature comparison chart between DNxIO and existing Avid hardware, check out this handy chart:

John, the Fusion answer is this:

A: The Fusion Edit Connection for Media Composer plugin is installed when you install Blackmagic Design Desktop Video (required to connect Artist | DNxIO).  The Fusion Edit Connection for Media Composer plugin will work with both Fusion Free and the full Fusion Studio (requires purchase).  The plugin is installed with the Desktop Video software but the Fusion Free and Fusion Studio need to be downloaded separately from https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support.  Look for Fusion 7.7.1 under Latest Downloads
