Open I/O for 3rd party may not support it but from all of Avid's Artist DNxIO documentation it is supposed to be integrated at this point. ( We have tried with both MC 8.4.5 & MC 8.5)
From the DNxIO FAQ:
Q: Does DNxIO support Closed Captioning and Ancillary data?A: Yes, with the release of Media Composer v8.4.5 and Desktop Video Software v10.5.4, Playback of Ancillary Data including Closed Captioning and Ancillary Timecode (ATC) are supported. Capture is not supported.
From the DNxIO tech specs:
