Personally I enjoy all nighters - I like dropping into the special 4am zone where the city quietens down there's no phone calls and the building settles. I get a lot done in a short period then.
Then they come in and clean the phone and vacuum around me - that's less fun.
In the uk meals just always just appeared in post houses my last direct employment at a tv station was in 1984 so I can't help with your actual question but I would advise just invoice extra hours for missed breaks at time and a half and add all food bills in - when they quibble say 'cheaper than dead air'.
