Re: [Avid-L2] Semi OT: Back up drives

This has more to do with workflow / philosophy than with technical stuff.
I find myself using a shitload of USB 3 portable drives.
(Toshiba Canvio basics, they run 100 MB / sec, 50 bucks for a terrabyte.)
I think twice on seperate locations is better than one more decent backup in one location.
(And yes, I also use LTO...)

But, all depends on budget and workflow.

Subject: [Avid-L2] Semi OT: Back up drives

Hey all -

In the early planning stages of doing a 60 minute doc. I am backing every camera card up to one or two drives for safe keeping. Any suggestions on what products are best for this? Won't be editing off them, just as safety backups. This is not for long term back up (yet, the producer will have to decide that after we are done), just for safety during edit. Thanks in advance.
