I've seen this once. Had to take a media files folder form elsewhere and copy it onto the storage to get it working. Database files and all before it would recognize it as a media drive. (Just creating the directory by hand would not work).
I'd rename the local media files folder, import something small or generate tone to the local HD then copy this media directory onto the storage giving you issues. Might be worth a shot.__._,_.___
