Here's a new one on me. Our AEs have found that they can not multigroup clips with differing bit depth. Our XD Direct ingests for offline were set to native audio bit depth which for our material is 24 bits. Unfortunately on our Avid projects we run 16 bit so other media is 16 bit.
One of our AEs is able to multigroup with differing bit depths on his version 8 system. Is anyone aware of this being a fix along the way. Until now it had never cropped up for us as all our captures and imports were done in a 16 bit project. Sure would have been nice to have been forewarned about this by the rental house. Oh wait given the clips aren't mac compatible for up rez why should I expect them to have usable audio too. Wait, 10, 9, 8..... I'm starting to count down more often then Jeff S. Who'd have thought XDCam ,with all it's glory, would be making me call my sponsor so often? ;-)
