Re: [Avid-L2] Need advice from Windows Whizzes

couple of notes:
-Dell M4600 is not on the Avid qualified list. Only M6300/6400/6500/6800 are mentioned. That's not to say it shouldn't work.
-Adrenaline is not supported on notebooks, only on workstations. MojoSDI and MojoDX are supported, along with MXO2 Mini and AJA IoExpress.
-the onboard firewire port is not supported. an optional ExpressCard to firewire adapter is required(Dynex or Startech)

whole story here:

sorry to bring the not so good news, but on the bright side, maybe the guide will steer you in the right direction.

cheers,
BG

Subject: [Avid-L2] Need advice from Windows Whizzes

Macbook Pro died, so I got one of the Dell M4600's that Wilson had
mentioned.

Still using an Adrenaline, so loaded v5.5.5; the PC has 8GB of ram and
is running Win7, 'professional' I believe.

Video -- just low end DV25 stuff -- plays for a few seconds, then hangs
for a second, then keeps playing. This play, pause, play, pause, play
goes on forever. It's not dropping frames and stopping playback; it
keeps playing after the pause. Happens whether attached to the
Adrenaline or running as software only.

I figure this must be some kind of configuration problem, right? Any one
else ever see and solve this?

Thanks,
