I hear Avid passed on DaVinci – when it was on a 1M fire sale....
Earlier Avid passed on Cosa (now After Effects). And when it comes to other Avid purchases: Softimage? Elastic Reality? Parallax (Matador and Illusion)?
Digidesign was a succesul acquisition. But to say that it has lead to substantial integration of the Digidesign products into Avid's flagship product would be quite a stretch.
