RE: [Avid-L2] update dongle first?

In a previous thread when Avid was suddenly not seeing my dongle while I was editing after blasting to Ver. 8.3 it seems that was caused by the dongle being on a passive usb hub. Once I moved the dongle to the front usb port of the macpro I haven't had that issue. I was curious about the new app manager which I used to blast my dongle. When I went to another startup drive on the same computer and went to the license tab there was no information about my dongle. The dongle worked but nothing in the license tab. When I restarted on the drive I had blasted the dongle from the app manager showed the dongle info in license tab. I was expecting the license tab to reflect the dongle that was found on the computer but it is acting more like a history of the dongle updated on the one startup drive. I figured it would be doing something like the dongle dumper did when I went to the other startup drives on my computer.

What am I misunderstanding about the functionality of the license tab in the new app manager? How are people in larger facilities with multiple systems blasting their dongles? Is it wise to blast multiple dongles on one computer or blast on each individual system. Just curious what downside if any to blasting dongles on one system versus multiple systems?

App first. You need the app manager to update the dongle. The old
dongle manager doesn't do it correctly.
