Alternatively, a trial installation of FCP-X should give you the codecs, which should remain even if you trash the app.

Nice trick I learned, to get all the "Pro" codecs on a Mac for AVID to export to QuickTime... Just install Qmaster node. It's the small piece of software that allows you to use networked based rendering in FCP 7 and before. You don't have to enable network rendering. It doesn't require a license or QuickTime Pro to install. You will now have all the codecs FCP is compatible with, without having to install a pro license of anything. I don't know if it comes with FCPX.It's one of the stand-alone installers on just about any version of FCP install disks. Takes just a few minutes.Dave HoganBurbank, CAOn Sunday, March 15, 2015 12:49 PM, "'Job ter Burg (L2B)' Job_L2@terburg.com [Avid-L2]" <Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com> wrote:
I don't think so. Just transcode or mixdown to ProRes inside MC, then export QT Same as Source or QT Reference. If you want to be able to select ProRes as a Custom QT codec, then yes, it needs to be installed, and that might very well still be linked to having the Pro codecs installed. On 15 mrt. 2015, at 20:21, John Moore bigfish@pacbell.net [Avid-L2] <Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com> wrote:I did a little googling and it seems that the only way to be able to export ProRes from Avid is to have some form of FCP installed.
