Re: [Avid-L2] MC 8.3 Custom Frame Offset on output tool

Well I tried with my SNDX using my BM SDI card instead of the Nitris and the new Digital Cut Offset has zero effect on a video only insert.  I still get the one frame of black at the inpoint and the timeline is one frame late.  No matter what I put in the offset after checking the box enable digital cut offset.  Tried +1, -1, +5, -5 and everything still went to tape SRW-5500 in a 29.97P 1080 project.  I'm running MC 8.3, OS 10.8.5 and BM Video Desktop 10.1.1.  I'll check the BlackMagic site but no joy in output ville.  We do seem to get frame accurate captures at work with the same card on Avid 6.5 ish.  Come on Black Magic or Avid is there really no way to output from Avid through Blackmagic Hardware?

I assume this one frame offset eliminates the black frame at the beginning of every edit due to the frame buffer holding the black frame because the timeline needed to roll one frame earlier.  The under the hood machine tweaks for that had no effect on my BM SDI card or even the Nitris DX when I checked them on an SR deck.  Glad to here this is fixed in Ver 8.3 and even better I have an SR deck at home to check this with tonight.  Wee and I thought I was going to have a boring evening.

Yes it is.
This is for using a deck with 3rd party boxes.

For example on BM ultrastudio 4K I use 1 frame for accurate output to HDCAM SR.

Test for each tape Machine and for each project format.

Thank god they added it.

I was excited to see that MC finally has a frame offset tool, however I had thought it would offset the timecode during output.  What happened is that it throws the picture out of sync by whatever amount you enter.  Is this the expected behavior with this option?
