No idea on the crash but I'll get you up to speed on the list.

Just as everyone here decided the actually wanted a DS just after that bj longer became an option the list went ballistic on behalf of the 1% who pay for phrase find script sync etc when it wasn't supported in the new version.

Couple of new version of media composer came out the list hated all the new features and lower price.

The software transitioned to a subscription model which everyone hated. Sadly six months or so notice to update perpetual licenses wasn't enough for many people so the avid people worked all xmas and new year helping out. And still had to extend it a month as the demand was so high. I wonder how many DS suites they'd sell if they had a one month special...

Software activation changed and been simplified. The procedure now is you simply call Marianna and give her your serial numbers and she types them directly into the database for you. Seems to work much better.

As for the actual software - the stuff that counts, well we don't really talk about that much as its pretty bloody good. Some people moan occasionally about the color corrector as if there is no free Davinci and some complain about the title tool as though after effects isn't free with photoshop these days, but as an edit system it kind of beats the crap out of  anything else out there so we spend our time taking about OB truck options and quicktime anomalies.

So basically nothing changed.

Welcome back.

Best regards

Mike

'dja miss me?

I haven't been on any list serves since about September.

I've been knee deep in a feature film and had to disconnect for a while.

I just got a new MacBookPro retina (a lovely gift from the film producers!), Yosemite 10.10.2, 16Gigs RAM and I installed Avid MC 8.3.0.

Whenever I attempt to go to Full Screen Mode (shift-command-F) Media Composer unceremoniously crashes. Anyone else experiencing this or have an idea why it might be happening?
