I just had to grab some footage from old SD DV tapes. I couldn't lay my hands on a deck at home so connected my ancient Sony VX1000 camcorder (the daddy of camcorders) to my iMac (Yosemite) via a FW>Thunderbolt adapter. MC 8.3 played along good as gold - captured and batch captured - much better than some earlier combinations of MC and Mac OS. Might be useful to know.
