some problems are audio plugins that either have changed or dont exist in old projects (like audio suite pitch shift- its now something different and will crash MC8 until it is removed from the seq)
other issues i've seen really depend on your sequences, if you have effects and or ama that MC doesnt like between the 2 versions you can get "a serious error has occurred, restart the application" and you wont be able to edit or do anything with the sequence. it's hit or miss, you might install mc8 as a trial and just see if your project sequences open ok before upgrading.

I've got 8 systems sharing projects and media on a Terrablock.
Some of us want to upgrade from MC7 to MC8. Some of us don't, mostly to retain Phrasefind and Script Sync.
Anyone have experience with sharing projects between MC 7 and 8? Gotchas? I expect some trouble going from MC8 audio track effects back to the RTAS of 7. And obviously wouldn't be able to use 4k, etc in MC7.
We could probably use local projects and only share only media, but that defeats one big advantage of Avid.
