Re: [Avid-L2] Segmentation Errors MC 7.0.4 on Mac

When I was getting 'Segmentation Fault' errors, they were mostly related to the way that MC was talking to the external media drives. Do you have lots of different external media drives? Try to put everything on less, and faster drives. Do you have more than 5000 items in any one, numbered MXF folder? If so, then don't. Reapportion your media into folders with no more than 5000 items each, trash the media databases in each folder, and let MC re-scan, and rebuild.

This might get you out of the woods. Maybe.

Hi group,

When I try to open a project in MC 7.0.4 I get the following error message

Alert "Segmentation fault" in thread "Main Thread", at address 0x0

The application then "unexpectedly quits"

It's a large project lots of bins, various resolutions, master sequence about on a stand-alone system, MC 7.0.4 on Mac Pro running OS 10.9.3

Any advice to counter the error gratefully received

Best Regards,

Tony
