No, it's true.  I purchased from Videoguys on Dec. 1st and bought nothing but the support contract/upgrade and I got the discount.

Videoguys is selling the annual contract at a discount of 285 instead of the full 299. And, if you use the coupon code "HOLIDAY14" you get another 5% off until December 12th. So it comes to $270.60.
