Note that TRIM support is disabled for all none Apple branded SSDs. TRIM is necessary for maintain performance and extend overall life of the drive.

There are two workarounds.

Using SSDs with SandForce controllers like those by OWC. The controller has an aggressive garbage collection that acts as an alternative for the lack of OS TRIM support.

The other is using a kext hacker to force OS X to apply TRIM to any SSD. There are free and commercial ones. Note that this will disable kext security signing in Yosemite.
