According to the Avid End Of Life Support doc here (http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/faq/End-of-support-dates), MBox 2 should be supported through 9/2015. That said, they still might not be obligated to make new drivers for new operating systems, only support what had previously been supported with the hardware.

If you have one of these to use with Core Audio on a Mac, it is NOT compatible with Yosemite. Avid still has not developed a driver that supports Yosemite. Of the various internet workarounds that I've tried, nothing works. Hopefully Avid will comes up with a functioning driver soon. It's only been several months.
