Just sent of the Post Coordinator to take a drive with the last 4 segments for tonight's live show starting at 10P EST. The drive left our production offices at approx 2P PST to go from Hollywood to the San Fernando Valley where the Post Supervisor has a very fast connection with his cable modem, at least 6 to 8 times our internet pipe at the production offices. He has about 14 GB to upload to get the files to the production truck in time for the 10P east coast start. I assume they will be ingested directly to the EVS for in show playback. We had sent tape copies of all but one segment last night. Unfortunately there were broadcast standards changes etc... so now a re-feed. Do I get to call it a "Re-feed" when it's not at a major technical center of a network or a facility but just an apartment in the SF valley that has faster pipes than we do in Hollywood. Sure seems like a crazy world but one hell of an adrenaline rush. I miss live TV.
