[Avid-L2] Japanese subtitles in subcap

I was sent a txt file for subtitling a film I cut in Japanese.

I first sent them a txt file made from the subtitles in an other language, so that they would have the same timecode and format. They sent me the file back. When I import it in subcap (Avid 7.0.4.1), it creates the subtitles in the right places, but all the text is replaced with ???????? characters.

Anything I'm doing wrong? I'm on Mac, project is 25P, don't know which font I should be using. Tried a few but nothing worked.

Any suggestion?

Of course this is an urgent matter as the translators waited for a long time and now I'm covering them… story of an editor…

file is here if someone can give it a try?

Thanks a million.
