Re: [Avid-L2] Preventing former AMA files from relinking back to AMA sources?

Yes, that's the setting I was thinking of.  Since your media drive is always online, I thought it might have an effect.

Honestly, I have never seen this problem before.  As you stated, normally keeping things linked or relinking things when you want to is where the difficulty usually arises.

I looked through the settings and all the volume mounting options are
unchecked except of "when mounting previously mounted volumes, do not
check for modifications to the volume." Are you thinking of the
"Automatically AMA-link to volumes" setting? It's unchecked.

I think the relink happened when I attempted to relink a single clip in
a separate bin.

Apparently, the AVID then decided to relink all the consolidated media
back to AMA files that it could find. Too bad there isn't a way to say
"This AMA clip has been consolidated. It's in the Avid Media Folder.
Don't look back!"

I've heard so many tales of AMA links failing in an edit that I move off
of AMA as soon as I can. I wouldn't think it would be hard to break the
links on purpose without having to hide files.
