Sitting is literally killing us. We all work ridiculous hours in our caves. We all need more sunlight. We visit the snack wall too often. We don't socialize enough. And we are all tired of feeling like garbage.

No. Sorry, but I'm tired of this pop-science baloney. With all due respect to Walter Murch, sitting is NOT killing anyone. Humans sit all the time, constantly, and much, much more than we ever did. Average life expectancy continues to rise.

Of course, fitness and stress matter. Sit, stand, walk, take breaks, de-stress, eat better. This will all make you happier and healthier. It may help you live longer. It might not. If it doesn't, don't do it. If you feel bad at the end of the day, you're doing it wrong.

We are editors. We have cushy jobs where we can choose to sit, or stand, or walk on a freakin' treadmill if we like.
