Here in Bangkok my solution has been to start at 10am and work later to avoid traffic. Makes a HUGE difference to my day.

Our clients need to value the health of everyone involved in creating their final products. That means good ergonomics for editors, decent breaks, and alternatives to commuting to onsite work. Those could include offsite editing, but also staggered hours. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, commuting anywhere by any means is becoming steadily more abusive. And only a lucky few can live where they work.
Commuting is not only killing us, it's killing every living thing.

Subject: [Avid-L2] Is Editing Killing Us?
Sitting is literally killing us. We all work ridiculous hours in our caves. We all need more sunlight. We visit the snack wall too often. We don't socialize enough. And we are all tired of feeling like garbage.
Enter veteran editor Zach Arnold as he visits Editors' Lounge to help educate and literally save editors' health if not their very lives.
