[Avid-L2] OTish: Avid Customer Association

 

Hey all - 


When I as going through some of the Avid press releases on their financial results, I saw a quote that mentioned the ACA had 1,300 members (or $195,000 at $150/per).  I posted a question on the Avid Forums asking what ROI have PAYING customers received from the ACA.  Crickets.  Nothing.  A couple of folks chimed in that you have to join to find out, which is a bit ridiculous.  Kind of like "well you have to buy the car to see how the seats feel".


So, I pose that question again on the more open Avid-L:  Can any PAYING ACA members report back on what they are getting from the membership?  Are you being asked on a regular basis about the future of Avid and the industry?  Is there regular communications from Avid that are more than marketing-speak?  Was it a worthy investment or just a cash-grab?  Will you rejoin (I think this is a recurring fee)?  I mean, we are over 14 months from the announcement of the ACA, and that's plenty of time to see some sort of return.


Just curious....
