Re: [Avid-L2] Favorite tool for rendering outside Avid - now AFF vs. QT reference

I just made a Pro Res QT reference movie, dragged it into Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 and encoded it to H.264.  Worked fine.  What issue are you having?

Maybe a more of an expert could jump in here, but it looks like Adobe has support for AAF clearly spelled out – not QT reference.

Adobe Media Encoder crashes when I give it a QuickTime Reference.  I've tried various combinations of using network shares and etc, as well as using internal, external, networked drives.

I am using a HP computer and Windows 7.

I would love to find out how to make reference movies work.

Will Adobe Media Encoder take QT reference files?  They are using the new version of Cinema Craft for the actual encoding.

el gato turbo 264 if you're just doing H.264.

Adobe Media Encoder is very good.

I like Squeeze and AME equally

L'ers –

What is the favorite tool these days for rendering an Avid sequence outside of the application.  I am familiar with Squeeze, but I'm sure there must be other products folks are using.

The workflow desired is to flatten movies and TV shows for DVD and Blu-ray encoding.  They have the shared storage piece and the encoding solution, just looking to not tie up editor stations rendering these long files.
