My wife edits with an older usb wacom graphire tablet 6x8 inch model. I don't have it at home but it is similar to the blue tooth graphire tablet I have on my lap tops. I remember years back there was an issue with wacom drivers and Avid where the space bar wouldn't stop the timeline playing and I would have to wait several seconds and more for the timeline to halt. The fix back then was to go with an older driver for the wacom. My wife is working at a place that just did some upgrade to their Isis storage and did some upgrades to the bays. They are on Ver. 7.0.3 I believe. She working on a reality show with groups or maybe multi groups with a quad split. She is complaining the the scrubbing is not stopping when she stops scrubbing the pen. Also things don't stop right away when she hits the space bar. In segment edit when she moves a clip the clip keeps moving after she raises the pen up. This is a mac system and she has been on another mac system in one of the companies other offices with the same tablet without issue. The difference is she is now working with group clips. In the past she has worked at the facility she is currently having problems with in a different bay without tablet problems. Another editor that has some sort of power mouse but no tablet complains that when she hits rewind the video stalls but the audio rewinds and she can hear it but when she hits play the clip starts at the frame where the video stalled. This is a different bay but the same Isis.
I don't know if the tablet issue is a throw back from what use to happen with Avid and wacom circa 2010 but it sounds similar. I don't know if this facilities recent upgrade of the Isis is a factor or if they upgraded to Mavericks OS. The support engineer blamed the tablet and mentioned something about downloading something for Avid's with tablets. I'm not clear if he meant a different wacom driver or some patch thingy to help Avid's with wacom issues. Has anybody heard of any new wacom issues with Ver. 7 or a particular mac OS. Any questions we should ask about the recent upgrades? TIA
