On a series I worked on there was one bad camera that had digital macro blocking at the top and bottom of the frame. We resized the shots to get rid of the blocking that was noted in QC for the domestic master. Now the international version is being re QC'd and they are finding more of these issues. No biggie just tell me where they are and I'll fix them. This is the header note on one show that was QC'd by different company than all the rest of the shows"
"Digital hits/displacement present occ t/o program - see t/c sheet for some (not all) examples."
I quote "SOME (NOT ALL) EXAMPLES"
WTF isn't it QC's job to tell me where ALL the errors are so I can fix them? This to me is BS. I understand some times there are things like noisy video that get listed as examples and a "2" rating, but when you flag something as "3" it needs to be addressed (like the macro blocking) and I would expect QC to list ALL such areas. I realize we are only human and things can sneak by but the blanket statement "SOME (NOT ALL) EXAMPLES" seems like a cop out to me.
Is it wrong for me to fault this in a QC report? I'm tempted to respond that I fixed some but not all the errors as per the QC report. I'm willing to be wrong here but I don't think I am. I'd welcome others advice.
