I'm with Jeff. Back when I was doing field production, this was my favorite hypercardioid. BTW, it's actually a plus that the MK41 isn't a "shotgun" as the the capsule itself is very small and separable from the preamp, and thus configured it's tiny so you can boom from above in a low-ceilinged room where a true "shotgun" won't fit.
I even have a couple of the CMBi preamps, that have an internal battery and an unbalanced output, for use with consumer camcorders.
There was a time on eBay when you could pick up stereo pairs of the CCL mini-Schoepses cheaply — a lot of Phish and Dead tapers used them, and when the taping era ended they sold off their gear.
