Oh, yes. I forgot that Media Composer seems to actual care about the dpi setting. I actually thought of this, but now realize I did not actually try it. These images are the all the same dpi (300) but not the same pixel dimensions. Roger points out, as I suspected, that there is some interaction between these to settings that MC (and other apps apparently) can confuse.I have noticed with the Avid Pan & Zoom that making the source file 72 dots per inch solved the exact same problem for me.
I will try, and report.
