Hello folks
I'm working on a Symphony 5.0.something doing some tricky chroma keys, for which the Avid keyer isn't good enough (it involves rotation too). Normally I would turn to BCC, but on this Avid, the BCC multi-filter start/end pipeline doesn't work (it's a documented bug on various systems).
Luckily this Avid also has Avid fx - which I'm not that au fait with - but I really need to make it work. So, in Avid fx I have a background, some chroma keys, and a graphical device on top (yes, I need to do them all in Avid fx to line them up):
V6 Moving graphic matte
V5 Moving graphic fill
V4 chroma key person3
V3 chroma key person2
V2 chroma key person1
V1 Background
I'm fine with the chroma keys but the top two layers have me flummoxed. On an Avid, normally you'd just apply a Matte Key to V6 - but in Avid fx please can somebody tell me how to tell it to 'matte key' on V6 and 'fill' with the layer below? I have googled this extensively and failed to find the answer. I'm at home now & if I can't do this when I go back in tomorrow I'm going to be in trouble!
Thanks very much, Crispin
