[Avid-L2] External Thunderbolt Drive not Available in Media Creation Settings

SYSTEM:
*New, out-of-the-box, pre-qualified 15" MacBook Pro Retina, late 2013; purchased & configured April, 2014
*Mac OS X 10.9.2 with all software updates

HARDWARE:
*G-Tech External 4 Tb Thunderbolt Drive, Factory-formatted Mac OS Extended Journaled
*Performs normal R/W operations in:

  • Finder
  • iPhoto
  • iTunes
  • PremerePro 6
SOFTWARE:
*Media Composer 7.0.3

ISSUE:

*External drive doesn't show up in Media Creation Settings

TROUBLESHOOTING:
*Verified all check boxes DESELECTED in Drive Filtering
*Tried console commands:
  • AllDrives
  • AllDrives 0
  • AllDrives 1
*Verified permissions for all users for the drive are R/W
*Reformatted drive Mac OS Extended Journaled
*Reverified permissions for all users @ R/W
*Rebooted
*Searched for an Avid KB article on this (thunderbolt) issue.

No joy.

It's the only media drive available for this computer.  Getting it mounted in Media Composer is crucial.

Any/all help welcome.

Cheers,
