Hi, I've been forced into making quite a number of blu-rays lately and although 99% of the time things are all good, I do sometimes have a client who can't play a disc in a specific player.
I've always chalked this up simply being the nature of burnable optical media. In the DVD days it was widely accepted the Taiyo Yuden water shield discs were among the best media you could get, and I always use those, and thats what I've been using for BD-R also.
However I've recently become aware that BD-R media can come in two flavors, "HTL" and "LTH" two different materials/technologies for the recording surface, and many people say that the newer technology LTH has a less compatibility. It turns out the Taiyo Yuden discs use this newer LTH technology which is said to be less compatible with older players with outdated firmwares.
So the question is: What BD-R media are people using, can anyone recommend a nice inkjet printable BD-R disc that is "HTL" technology and which they have very good compatibility experience with?
Thanks in advance!
best
