I've seen Sphere in action, which is now the basis for Avid Everywhere, with both heavy and browser clients. You can buy it today. The cloud enablement is already in the software for the most part.
But these products aren't for you, Steve- you're not in this space. They're for me, and it's what is being looked it for the future of Reality post. Instant notes from the network? Logging of clips from Road Shows by folks back at the home office? Yep, it's a Vision, and most of the binoculars are available now.
This won't be for 4K finishing, which is also for me, but it may just change the way the world of shared Post production works.
Huh… and I ain't even a salesguy...

"New market positioning "Avid everywhere" is just a nice story, but I don't see real products and solutions behind it."Seems that there are others who have doubts about there being actual product development behind the story. Of course, he's only a salesperson. Oh wait, this is the person who has to motivate others to buy. I've been there. Very hard to sell something when one has doubts about real products ever coming to market in a reasonable time. And, practically, how does one earn a commission -- most of what you'll earn each year -- telling a "story" to prospects? Just like customers, sales folk need actual products to sell that will be delivered in the quarter booked. Very different than those who earn a salary no matter company profits.Speaking of profits, has the late report been published? One has to wonder what the actual data show.
