Re: [Avid-L2] My take on NAB

One of my Online guys started the conversation with Avid about getting MC into Middle schools in his son's district.

I spoke with a gent who was a TA of mine back in the day,  and he is pushing Avid at the College level as the platform of choice.

The folks from UCLA and USC were both at the breakfast table sunday morning with me at the ACA event, along with the coordinator of Television Programs for high schools in an LA suburb.  All talking Avid.

Should the education prices be even lower?  Sure-  Hell, I think that should be free,  but are they excessive?   Nah,  not really.   Is Avid in the education space?   yep-  in a big way.

Same here, Roger.  And they all (200) have FCPX and a few Premiere.  Not one has Media Composer.  Granted, we are not a film/journalism school, but a graduate advertising program.  But still.  Not one.  How does Avid get back into the conversation with these folks and schools like ours that are doing visual projects every day, usually  more complex than the average 1:15 minute news story?
