I don't think you have missed much. I think much of the effort around Media Composer this NAB has gone into the platform etc and the licensing and so on.
If you participate in the ACA and your features are voted in by the whole of the Avid user base (we all get two votes) then Avid's R&D dollars could be going towards implementing it. The big boys and the little boys all get the same amount of votes as it turns out.
And when Louis and the board have looked at the feedback and decided on their priorities they will transparently feed back their decisions.
that will be the time to be moaning I suppose. Give them a chance to turn the boat around.
The new things being talked about at NAB will be;
Subscription and floating licensing for MC
Media Composer | Cloud
ProTools collaboration with MC
then there is the Media Suite (a server version of DMF)
Media Index which allows you to search for stuff in Interplay
Media Distribute
a whole load of work on the API and SDK layer to allow 3rd parties to participate in the MediaCentral platform
it may not seem a lot to the editor in the chair for this NAB but it lays quite a lot of the foundations.
