Hi Nije,
I ran into this a while back when delivering some programmes to Ch5. The problem is that the spec for the British broadcasters used to be Bars and Tone starting at 9:59:00;00 which Avid designed the shim for. However the DPP then changed the spec to Bars and Tone at 9:59:30:00 with clock from 9:59:50:00. This is called the "New" mode whereas the old shim is called the "Legacy" Mode. Avid haven't quite caught up yet. But I queried this with Avid tech and they gave me a workaround which is:
Duplicate the as11-uk-dpp-hd-shim.xml which can be found here: C:\Program Files\Avid\Avid Media Composer\SupportingFiles\AS11_Shim_Templates\UK
Then open with a basic text editor (notepad on PC) and append these lines to the end just before it says </Shim>:
<LineUpStart>09:59:30:00</LineUpStart>
<IdentClockStart>09:59:50:00</IdentClockStart>
Save the file with a new name.
Now when you export AMA from Avid you can load the new shim and your line up and clock times will be set to "New Mode"
Works a treat on my machine. I use the DPP tool to check that all the info is good - you can download it here: https://www.digitalproductionpartnership.co.uk/downloads/metadata-application/
One thing to watch is that none of your fields are more than 127 characters long - this includes programme synopsis, video details, audio details etc. Avid will let you do more but the DPP tool will reject them.
Also, if you have MC7 you can use spanned markers to mark out each part of a multipart programme and they will automatically show up in the metadata as Part durations and add them up to give you your Total Running Time. nice stuff!!
Good luck with your project. Nick
