when it hits the bad db the error message tell the file and path to mdb info in warning / error message during scan. you can go into bin and delete the 2 db management file as you can in any other Avid Media Folder. but I do agree it is bad idea to put this folder on system drive...Hope Avid will give option to place elsewhere where there is less where and tear on drive than system drive.
