Yeah, they were called the Maine Workshops...I went to several of them in Rockport through the years.  They were owned and run by an individual who sold them to the current group who has made them a 501(c)(3) organization and college.  The old version was quirky, but I learned a lot.  Frank Capria was an instructor for some of the courses.  Back in the day, a friend of mine in video wanted to transition to the film industry.  He took the AC class, made great connections, and with a lot of hard work is today a successful DP in Hollywood.  

I can't speak to the current ownership or curriculum, but maybe these reviews might help:
