Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Avid on new Mac Pro - approved

It's certainly a serious consideration for me. I mean, the new Mac Pro has the built-in HDMI out, but that's only really useful (for me, anyway) if it's able to be used roughly the same as a BOB -- that is, as a feed to a full-fledged external client monitor, and NOT as a second or third computer monitor.

And of course then there's the necessary audio outputs. I gotsta feeds my Genelecs somehow, and generally I like to come out of the Nitris, into a mixer, and then out to the speakers. Be great if Avid had a way of doing this in cooperation with the new Mac Pro.

OK – so what do current Nitris DX users do if upgrading to the new mac pros? My dept. has several, and we are planning for FY15 upgrades. An EOL for Nitris will not bode well for Avid in general.

Appreciate your (Avid's) response to this – something I've asked in several places for some time now, and I'm sure a serious consideration for many others.
